Job Responsibilities

As a key team member, your duties will include:

• Ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s PMR Laboratory.
• Ensuring compliance with quality specifications for:
• Incoming anode slime from the electro refinery.
• In-process materials and finished precious metals (gold bar, silver bar, selenium).
• By-products, including Tellurium and Platinum & Palladium Group Metal (PGM). This is achieved through rigorous sampling, testing for quality control, quality assurance, and metal accounting.
• Motivating and continuously training the PMR laboratory team to enhance performance.

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A graduate degree in Chemistry or Metallurgical Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the laboratory of a PMR or similar process plants, with at least 3-5 years leading teams.
• A strong understanding of laboratory management systems & LIMS.
• Knowledge of copper smelting operations and precious metal refinery processes.
• Proficiency in managing quality systems and understanding of applicable statutes related to quality, health, safety, and environment.
• Expertise in analytical tools and techniques, with the ability to develop new analytical methods.
• Comprehensive lab instrument knowledge, including ICP, AAS, AFS, XRF, S-OES, Fire Assay, and Auto-Titration, as well as skills in method development, instrument calibration, and preparation of calibration standards.
