Human Resources Specialist

Position in the Organisation                 

This position falls under the Human Resources department and reports directly to the Managing Director. Additional reporting is to the HR Manager.

Purpose of the Job / Job Mission

The Human Resources Executive is responsible for championing all HR topics tactically and operationally across locations in Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Essential Functions

Benefits & Engagement

  • Manage employee benefits and handle related enquiries
  • Promote high employee engagement through regular communication sessions, company activities, and corporate events

International Assignment / Foreign Hire

  • Manage ongoing assignments in each SAS
  • Oversee the relocation and repatriation of foreign employees, including immigration matters, accommodation arrangements, home search, schooling, and shipment of household goods
  • Work closely with the Regional HR team in Singapore to ensure IA and foreign local hire management aligns with policy and guidelines

Performance Management & Compensation

  • Coach and support employees and managers during the annual performance review process and software-related matters
  • Review objective setting to ensure adherence to Employee Performance Management & SMART guidelines
  • Handle monthly payroll activities, including updating employee records and generating reports
  • Support the Managing Director and Regional HR Director in the annual salary and bonus review process

Recruitment, On-boarding & Off-boarding

  • Promote the company as a strong employer brand through social media and partnerships with universities, academic institutions, and industrial associations
  • Participate in and ensure quality recruitment and resource planning consulting services for hiring managers
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Compensation & Benefits teams to ensure operational excellence in end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, employment agency management, resume screening, interviewing, selection, salary benchmarking and recommendations, reference checks, and job offers
  • Responsible for on-boarding activities such as pre-employment checks and coordination with various departments to prepare for new employee arrivals
  • Prepare welcome packages and conduct new employee orientations
  • Prepare employment-related letters such as those for new hires, confirmations, transfers, promotions, resignations, and terminations
  • Manage exit procedures in compliance with local labor laws

Learning & Development

  • Partner with Line Managers to assess learning and development needs of employees, including recommendations, sourcing of external training, program evaluations, and creation of individual development plans
  • Coordinate external training programs such as course enrolments
  • Maintain training documentation and P-files, including certificates of completion
  • Ensure timely and regular updates of training records on the company’s Learning Management System
  • Collaborate with Managing Director, Line Managers, and SEA Learning Centre hub for nomination to the company’s internal training programs

Global Employee Database (GMD) & Reporting

  • Ensure timely updates to GMD for changes in employee data such as new hires and exits
  • Respond promptly to regional and global surveys and reporting requests

Others

  • Drive the roll-out and improvement of HR projects such as work processes, benefits schemes, and policy reviews
  • Maintain regular updates of the organization chart

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration
  • Good knowledge of local labor law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal software such as SuccessFactors
  • Good command of business-level English

Desirable:

  • Experience in employer branding and partnerships with universities
  • Experience working in multinational companies
  • Ability to work under pressure

Mandatory Experience:

  • Solid HR generalist hands-on experience across talent management, learning & development, payroll, personal income tax, and industrial relations (6-8 years or more)
